In a suggestion reminiscent of Exquisite Corpses and Scream With a View, in the 7 Minutes Show, one material, one incident or one storyline was split into several spaces, so to speak in practice, making it seem as if it was in different locations. The disappearance and appearance were not only the disappearance and appearance of the sound (high to low volume and vice versa), but almost the “physical” presence and lack-of-presence of the sound as well as of the sound source—for there is a difference between a sound that is faint when it is close and a sound that is strong when it is far. The work was divided into three parts, three main actions: inserting the speaker into the jar; closing (and sealing) and opening the lid; and rolling the drawing and inserting it half way into the jar as I changed its shape between two states. Some of these actions were the realization of a real phenomenon and some merely an imitation of it: creating and enhancing distortion; editing and enhancing bass; creating a sound box, and last, creating a darker sound and a sensation of distance.
